October 6

We're all on track for our move of Sunday venue to Headingley Methodist for 6 October. There's lots to be done and we'll need your help in making the move as smooth and as pain-free as possible. You can read about some of the changes wwill be working with in Update 6 (if you are registered on this website)

How can you help?

  1. If you serve on a Sunday team, be as flexible and positive as possible. Your team leaders will be coping with quite a lot of change - see how much you can help them.

  2. Pray for Ben and Kate as they think through and plan for our new venue. Pray for the team at HM itself. This is not an easy process for all of them. May our presence in their church building bless, not harm.

  3. Continue to give. If you can increase your regular giving or make a one-off gift please do so. This move, although it saves us something in rent, will cost us money. For example, one of the expenses we will incur will be the cost of new equipment to project video and words for the adults and children.

  4. Join a team to serve - if you don't already do so. We will need more people on welcome and vineyard kids. We also plan to serve lunch for newcomers and students after weekly worship. If you would like to help with that let us know.

Amy Button

Amy Button turned up on Sunday night. Reuben is chuffed to have a little sister but has questions about right of access to parents...! We look forward to seeing the enlarged Button family! Congratulations Matt and Anne.

Elton John

I’ve never been a great Elton fan, haven't got any of his records, but I wanted to go to the opening night of the Leeds Arena last Wednesday and he happened to be the act. I have to say, I was impressed. I didn't realise how good he is live, nor how bluesy he plays when he gets going. Being old school he rocked us through two and half hours in which we sang the sound track of our lives. In fact, when you think that we were in a huge arena with nearly 14,000 citizens of Leeds, it was surprisingly connected and emotional. A good night.

Weekly worship

Our very own Welsh chatterbox, Shirley, has decided to return to her roots. This Sunday will be her last one with us. Our loss is South Wales' gain; we'll miss her lilting accent, friendliness, smile and wisdom. She has led housegroups, served in all sorts of areas and brought cheerfulness to the Vineyard and she’s going to leave a huge gap. We’ll pray for her at weekly worship.

Last week I spoke about how we are a Worshipping Church. This week Pete Sammons will be speaking on how we are a Compassionate Church. He has a compelling message for you to hear.

Thank you David for your kind words and thank you ALL for being the wonderful worshipping witnesses of Jesus that you are. I am excited to be returning to my roots in Wales. However, the Vineyard has been my spiritual home for 10 years and some of you have shared my journey for longer than that. I am immensely grateful to God for the fellowship, love, companionship, encouragement, support I have received from so many of you over the years. Thank you. I am going to be in the Queens Arms Harrogate Rd Wednesday evening, if you care to drop in , I would love to see you. May the Lord bless you abundantly as you move to Headingly and may that blessing spill out into the community there. Love Shirley

On the off chance that the cash line peruses - 110, at that point you should think of the measure of cash you have chosen to wager, in addition to 10%.
