Leeds Vineyard does ‘Reverse Advent’
'Reverse Advent' is an opportunity to bless those around us at Christmas time.
This year we'd like to do two main things:
1. Support the families who attend the Child Contact Centre.
It's a wonderful thing to receive a small gift at Christmas - from people who don't even know you. We love to suprise the Contact Centre families with age-appropriate gifts. If you would like to join in there is a sign up sheet for specific items which will be available at weekly worship on Sunday 26 November - or contact Elaine (see below).
The Child Contact Centre is a safe, friendly and neutral place where children of separated parents can meet their non-resident parent or family member. The centre aims to help children whose parents have separated and where there is no reasonable alternative way for them to spend time with them.

2. Support the Leeds North & West Foodbank
We are committed to helping feed those who require food and believe that nobody should be going hungry in Headingley or Leeds. Currently one of the best ways we can do this is to support projects already established and making a difference. The last six months have shown a 10% increase in foodbank usage in North & West Leeds.
This Christmas the foodbank are encouraging people to join in with reverse Advent calendars. These are where people put an item of food in a box each day rather than opening a window for chocolate. To join in take a look at this information and poster or pick one up on a Sunday morning.
Or - help make a hamper: we will also be creating some of our own hampers for people known to us who could do with some extra treats over Christmas. If you would like to help with these please get in touch with Anne Button to find out more.
