Leeds Vineyard

The Vision for Vineyard House

At Leeds Vineyard we often talk about the Vineyard Person – he/she has two legs, one for compassion & mercy and one for worship & prayer.

Why is a building important for compassion and worship?
Buildings are simply facilities. It’s what we do in them that matters.

The Big Idea is to use these buildings, Vineyard House and HMC, to release compassion and worship in Headingley and across Leeds.

In one building (Headingley Methodist Church) we will focus on our core priorities of Worship and Bible. In the other (Vineyard House) we will focus on our core priorities of Equipping, Sending, Reach Out (Compassion) and Fellowship. Both will be places of Prayer.

We received this prophecy from a person in the church last June 2017:

We are to redeem the building – Vineyard House. This implies the physical restoration of the building, but also its spiritual redemption, for the purposes of God.
Being involved in this ‘work’ will be a means of redemption for some of us, and an expression of our redemption.

Isaiah 61:4-7 ‘They will rebuild the ancient ruins, repairing cities long destroyed. They will revive them, though they have been empty for many generations. Foreigners will be your servants. They will feed your flocks and plough your fields and tend your vineyards. You will be called priests of the Lord, ministers of our God. You will be fed with the treasures of nations and will boast in their riches. Instead of shame and dishonour, you will inherit a double portion of prosperity and everlasting joy.’

Although the purchase of this building (Vineyard House) is a huge step, it has been given to us to do: to buy, to repair and to redeem.

Please join us in this vision for winning Headingley for the Kingdom and establishing radical  places of worship and compassion, of prayer and fellowship – an of becoming great neighbours, indeed, the best neighbours.
