Kingdom Passions - Modern Slav
'Slavery did not end with William Wilberforce and its abolition in the 19th Century. It continues to harm people in every country of the world, with approximately 40 million people around the world enslaved. It is not just a global issue, but also a local one. Here in the UK, modern slavery can be found in every large town and city and there are an estimated 136,000 victims.

Jesus declared, as Isaiah prophetically declared, the Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free, and that the time of the Lord’s favour has come.’ We believe God’s heart is for the rescue and restoration of every person held captive and that they would be known as survivors, not victims.

This is why we are so excited to be launching the Modern Slavery group! Our aim is to resource, encourage and equip the church in the fight against modern slavery and to make a difference.

We would also love to invite you to join us if this is an issue that God has put on your heart. You can sign up on ChurchSuite. We’re still dreaming up what this is going to look like, and we’d love you to be a part of that process.'

#slavefree normalĀ
This is a brutal and complex problem, but we believe that if we each take action to make small changes, little by little, we will build a future where slavery free products are normal.
